Hardwood siding is one of the most popular trends for modern homes in Miami. South Florida’s humid and wet climate and strong and direct sunlight can really damage and deteriorate a house. Hardwood cladding can help protect against these elements It is an ideal siding material since it is durable and has no chemicals or preservatives. It can help insulate the home and protect the structure from the sun and heat. Siding is sometimes referred to as cladding, which just means one material laid over another to provide a layer over it.
Rainscreen
Used with rainscreen hangers, the most commonly used boardsize for installation is 5/4x6 in either ipe or cumaru tropical hardwood.

Tongue and Groove V joint
V joint is a way of milling the boards so that where they touch they form a groove that looks like a "v".
Tongue and Groove Nicke joint
Tongue and Groove Nickel Gap are usually 1/8" Gap. It really dresses up the side of a house. “Nickel Gap” is a way of spacing the boards apart, and like the name indicates, they are the width of a nickel. Although more time consuming, this method can mean a little bit of savings in the cost of installation.
Ipe Clip
We use ipe clips to have a seamless look. Deck boards are pre-drilled for the scres. The 1/8" pilot hole allows avoids splintering. The stainless steel screws mean that the structure will last for many years no matter what the weather conditions.
Shiplap
Me
Shiplap siding is done by milling hardwood boards with a special notch on the edge of each board. There is no tongue and groove, one board is made to overlap on the rabbet on the prior board. The boards are then installed horizontally and interlook with each other. This process is done for aesthetics of the house as well as insolation. It can be done both on the interior and exterior of homes, but is most commonly used outdoors.
