At Extreme Decks we are just as excited about your new project as you are and that's why we want it to be perfect! The type of tropical hardwood or compost (synthetic) decking used is as important as all the hardware and oils used in the installation. We use many specialized products that are made especially for tropical hardwoods. Due to the density of the wood it is difficult to work with and requires specialized tools and hardware. We have partnered with companies that manufacture ipe specific products so that our deck is flawless.
Aside from esthetics, safety is also our top priority, which is why we use the decking industry's top brands for fasteners, clips and wood construction connectors. DeckWise® and Simpson Strong-Tie® are just a few of the brands that insure our client's decks, docks and other outdoor projects are installed with the highest quality materials.
Ipe and Cumaru are special products that require specialized products for installation and maintenance. We use top of the line, hardwood-specific products so that every job is done right. Depending on the type of deck we install and the customers’ needs, we use Ipe Oil™ by Deckwise. This oil-based natural wood finish is specifically formulated to protect and preserve the natural beauty of exterior hardwood decks. Ipe Oil™ Hardwood Deck Finish delivers outstanding penetration in ipe with minimal raising of the grain. Ipe Oil™ protects and conditions the wood while maintaining a completely natural appearance.
Each deck project is unique and is tailored to the customer's needs and preferences. In order to achieve a sleek and modern design Extreme Deck's installers use hardwood plugs (or Extreme Plug®) . We drill a hole directly into the face of the wood and then insert a hardwood plug and smooth it over with a sander. Details matter when installing decks, that's why at Extreme Decks we s find the wood grain in the plug and aligning it with the deck board grain, which helps ensure the plug is hidden as much as possible giving the deck a seamless, sleek look.
The fierce heat, extreme humidity, and pounding rain render decks in South Florida particularly susceptible to rot and deterioration. To address these harsh ecological pressures, Extreme Decks applies DeckWise Joist Tape™ to block water infiltration into deck joists. This extra step prevents wood rot and improves the life of each deck.
